Football Technology and Computer Repair

Here is my best Johnny Carson imitation……. What are three things that when they aren’t working will really make one mad?

Of course it is that time of year when students return and the traffic can be so bad you are stuck in traffic for 20 minutes (not so bad for the big city folk living in Tallahassee), but I love this time of year when pigskin is celebrated. I have found in my life that I love two things dearly one is college football and the other is running a business. It can be a juggernaut to manage the two during the same time and I can only feel sympathy for my better half (I love you too baby) as she goes through a rough 14 week stretch. Heck it is Wednesday the day before the first weekend and I am up at 5 thinking something has to be new in the paper about some team somewhere, yet yesterday I woke up at 5 thinking I have to vote in the leads 6 group turn in an important invoice then meet Allen McGinnis(thanks man). I am moving this weekend and I haven’t thought about it at all, my mind is preoccupied with touchdowns and managed services.

I heard on some radio show that no one loves running a business, I scoffed at that because I love it, I couldn’t do anything else. I spent time in so many different professions or remedial dishwashing jobs, and they all are pretty much the same, they have certain rules and procedures you have to follow but there is some room to think outside of the box. I learned from a cohost in radio that one can think outside of the box but learn how to tie it all in; for instance, we wanted to drink beer at 6AM with our listeners so we decided that on Memorial Day we would drink Sam Adams at a live remote. Outside the box hit our demographics (we were rock radio) and wasn’t a huge turnout but it was perceived the right way. Now, I wouldn’t go out and drink beer with all of our clients but the freedom to be able to come up with ideas to market the business or to look at business plans and improvise them is incredible. We are almost 5 years old as a company and have done something right I truly hope to go another 5 and with all of you that read the blog supporting us I know we will.

As for College Football I heard on the Radio the other day that Miami was in trouble, finally one thing Gators and Noles can agree about. I can’t wait for Saturday and I hope the Game lasts 5 hours, time is short enough and football really is only ¼ of the year.
